Security expertise

Not just getting you in. Making the property secure.

A locksmith should understand the complete opening: lock, cylinder, latch, hinges, strike and the way the door is used. We repair what can be saved, replace what cannot, and recommend upgrades for the actual risk rather than selling the most expensive hardware on the van.

  • Lock replacement & upgrades

Replace worn, damaged or under-specified locks with dependable deadlocks, cylinders, latches and door hardware suited to the property.

How the work runs

The right security fix, clearly explained

  1. 01

    Tell us what needs securing

A worn lock, lost keys, a tenancy change or a full security review — we identify the door and hardware so the right parts and tools are ready.

  2. 02

    Workshop and van, whichever suits

Installation, repairs and security upgrades come to your property; key cutting and restricted key systems can also be handled at our Collingwood storefront workshop.

  3. 03

    Repair, replace or rekey properly

We explain whether the right fix is servicing, alignment, rekeying or replacement, then test the complete door so the security works as intended.

  4. Fully licensed & insured Victorian locksmiths. Every technician is police-checked, and all workmanship is guaranteed.

Job book

Three thousand doors, and the ones people remember

Written examples of the work we handle across Collingwood and the inner north — replacing failed locks, rekeying after keys change hands, improving weak doors and responding when access is urgent.

  • 6:40pm
“Front door slammed behind me with the baby inside. Answered on the second ring, gave me a figure on the phone, and had the door open without a mark on it in under twenty minutes.”

    Dani M. — Fitzroy

    Emergency lockout

  • 10:15am
“Old mortice lock on a 1890s terrace that three people had told me needed replacing. They picked it, stripped it on the doorstep, re-pinned it and it now turns better than the day I moved in.”

    Peter L. — Carlton North

    Lock repair

  • 2:00pm
“Housemate left with her keys and no forwarding address. They rekeyed the front, back and garage to one key the same afternoon and explained exactly why that was cheaper than new locks.”

    Ash T. — Brunswick

Our guarantee

The bit most locksmiths won't put in writing

Locksmithing is a permission trade — you are handing a stranger the keys to your home or business. These are the six commitments we make on every job, day or night.

12 month workmanship guarantee
If a lock we fitted or repaired misbehaves within twelve months of normal use, we come back and make it right at no labour cost.
Licensed, insured, police-checked
Fully licensed & insured Victorian locksmiths. Every technician who attends your door is police-checked and carries identification.
Non-destructive entry first
Picking, bypass and decoding before anything else. Drilling is a last resort, quoted and explained before we start.
Price confirmed before we start
You get a figure on the phone and it is confirmed at the door. If the job differs from the description, we stop and re-quote.
Insurance-ready paperwork
Itemised invoices and hardware details in writing, worded for insurers and landlords after a break-in or lost-key claim.
Australian Standard hardware
We fit hardware that meets the relevant Australian Standard and typical insurance wording, not big-box hardware that fails in a year.

FAQ

Straight answers before you call

Are you actually available 24 hours?
Yes. The phone is answered by a locksmith, not a call centre, at any hour including weekends and public holidays.
How much does a call-out cost?
It depends on the lock, the door and the hour, so we talk it through on the phone and confirm on arrival before anything is opened or replaced.
Will you have to drill my lock?
Rarely. We lead with non-destructive entry — picking, bypass and decoding — and drilling is a last resort that is always quoted and explained first.
Which suburbs do you cover?
Collingwood plus 14 surrounding suburbs across Melbourne's inner north and inner east, from Brunswick and Thornbury through to Richmond, Kew and Hawthorn.
Do you have a storefront or are you mobile only?
Both. We run a storefront workshop in Collingwood for key cutting, restricted key systems and lock repairs, and mobile vans that come to you 24 hours a day. Give us a ring first so a locksmith is on the bench when you arrive.
Can you assess and improve the security of my home or business?
Yes. We inspect entry doors, windows, side gates, garages, shopfronts and key control, then prioritise practical upgrades. That can include replacing weak or worn locks, rekeying existing cylinders, adding deadlocks, correcting door alignment and setting up restricted or master key systems.
Should I replace a lock or have it rekeyed?
If the lock body and hardware are sound, rekeying is usually enough to stop every old key working. We recommend replacement when the lock is worn, damaged, unsuitable for the door or does not provide the level of security you need.
