Commercial locksmith
shopfronts, offices, strata
Business doors are used hundreds of times a day and are usually secured with hardware chosen for a house. We audit, upgrade, key and maintain commercial sites across Collingwood and the inner north — and we come out at close on a Saturday when a shutter jams.

Six kinds of site, one key plan each
- Retail & hospitality shopfronts
- Smith Street, Gertrude Street, Bridge Road and Sydney Road traders: patch locks on frameless glass, floor pivots, door closers, roller shutter locks and after-hours make-safe when a door fails at close.
- Offices & warehouse conversions
- Suite entries, tenancy changeovers, mail rooms and comms cupboards. We key the whole tenancy to a plan so the cleaner's key does not open the server room.
- Owners corporations & strata
- Building entry doors, bin and bike rooms, car park shutters and lot doors, restricted key registers held on your behalf, and staged rollouts that do not lock residents out mid-swap.
- Industrial & storage
- Roller doors, padbolts, close-shackle padlocks, container locks and high-security cylinders for sites that sit empty overnight.
- Real estate & property management
- Vacancy rekeys between tenants, key registers per portfolio, lockbox supply, and invoices itemised the way managing agents need them for owner approval.
- Egress & compliance hardware
- Panic and exit hardware, fire door compliant furniture, and secure-after-hours / free-exit-during-trade arrangements so your exits are never chained during opening hours.
Most commercial jobs start with one of three services: our commercial locksmith service, restricted key and master key systems or safe supply, opening and servicing. If a door is failing right now, start with 24 hour emergency callouts.
Site audit
What we check on a first visit
- 01Customer door: pivots, patch locks, closer speed and lateral play
- 02Roller shutters and grilles: guides, bottom rail, central lock condition
- 03Back of house: delivery doors propped open, strike anchored into masonry
- 04Key control: how many keys exist, who holds them, can they be copied
- 05Egress: every exit opens from inside without a key during trade
- 06Cash handling: safe type, anchoring, combination change history
We write the findings up as a short list with prices against each item, so you can fix what is urgent now and schedule the rest. Read the full shopfront security checklist we run for inner-north traders.

What your business gets in writing
Locksmithing is a permission trade — you are handing a stranger the keys to your home or business. These are the six commitments we make on every job, day or night.
- 12 month workmanship guarantee
- If a lock we fitted or repaired misbehaves within twelve months of normal use, we come back and make it right at no labour cost.
- Licensed, insured, police-checked
- Fully licensed & insured Victorian locksmiths. Every technician who attends your door is police-checked and carries identification.
- Non-destructive entry first
- Picking, bypass and decoding before anything else. Drilling is a last resort, quoted and explained before we start.
- Price confirmed before we start
- You get a figure on the phone and it is confirmed at the door. If the job differs from the description, we stop and re-quote.
- Insurance-ready paperwork
- Itemised invoices and hardware details in writing, worded for insurers and landlords after a break-in or lost-key claim.
- Australian Standard hardware
- We fit hardware that meets the relevant Australian Standard and typical insurance wording, not big-box hardware that fails in a year.

FAQ
Commercial & strata questions
- Can commercial lock work be done outside trading hours?
- Yes, and for most retail and hospitality sites that is exactly how we schedule it. Installs, rekeys and upgrades happen before opening or after close so your doors are never out of service in front of customers.
- How do you handle staff turnover and missing keys?
- With a restricted or patented key system and a signed register held at our Collingwood workshop. Copies can only be cut with authority from a named person on your register, so you always know how many keys exist and who holds them.
- Do you work with owners corporations and body corporate managers?
- Regularly. We quote per building, stage the rollout so residents are never without access, hold the key register, and provide the documentation the committee needs for approval and for insurance.
- Our roller shutter jammed and we can't secure the shop — how fast can you come?
- Emergency commercial callouts run 24 hours, 7 days from Collingwood, with typical inner-north arrival in 20 to 40 minutes. We secure the site first, then complete the permanent repair once it is safe.
- Can you supply documentation for our insurer or landlord?
- Yes. Itemised invoices listing hardware makes, models and applicable Australian Standards, provided in writing so they can be submitted to an insurer, a landlord or a committee without follow-up.
- Do you offer scheduled maintenance rather than callouts?
- For high-traffic sites we recommend it. Servicing closers, pivots, shutter guides and cylinders on a schedule is much cheaper than the emergency callout that happens when one of them finally seizes.
